I'M KAT.
I'm a passionate and experienced cannabis journalist, marketer, and branding specialist!
I got my B.S. in Marketing and Economics from the nationally acclaimed Sykes College of Business at The University of Tampa. With a specialization in brand messaging and identity, my niche is building brands through organic marketing and compelling storytelling.
During my time at two award-winning agencies, I worked with both B2B and B2C companies from the startup to the enterprise level. With a suite of clients focused in the technology, manufacturing, and CPG industries, I spearheaded digital strategies for powerhouse brands including Weight Watchers, Fleming's Prime Steakhouse + Wine Bar, and Tech Data.
Eventually, I traded palm trees for mountain ranges and relocated to Colorado to pursue my dream of working in cannabis. I was part of the in-house marketing department at the nation's largest grow supply store before shifting from the ancillary side of the industry into cultivation.
I then served as the Chief Marketing & Operations Officer of a boutique cannabis cultivator for nearly 2.5 years. During my tenure, I was part of a small team that raised over 2 million dollars in capital to improve our grow facility and expand into a new product category, as well as won awards for Best Pre-Roll, Best Packaging Design, and Best Concentrates.
I'm also an independent journalist with articles published in media outlets including Skunk Magazine and Leaf Nation. I've attended and covered immersive industry events from Washington State to New York City, and prioritizing community and knowledge sharing, have spoken on various topics in cannabis marketing at over 10 conferences and trainings.
To support positive change in our industry, I’m an active member of organizations such as The Cannabis Marketing Association, The Cannabis Chamber of Commerce, and Women Employed in Cannabis.
Throughout all of these experiences, I’ve collaborated with international innovators across both the traditional and legal markets.
Now under the Katadellic name, I offer digital strategy and execution services designed to drive growth for cannabis brands. I work with individuals and companies in the cultivation, manufacturing, and ancillary spaces — from large commercial grows and private processors to retail dispensaries, infused chefs, experiential event groups, and more.
When I'm not busy writing up a storm, you can find me with my nose in a good book, hitting the trails with my pup, or hunting down the perfect latte.
